Tahlia Riley

Tahlia Riley (b. 1992)
is an emerging visual artist born and raised on Noongar Country, WA now based on Awabakal Country, NSW.
Working primarily with ceramics, her practice explores memory, identity, and connection to place thats guided by an awareness of environmental fragility and climate change.
Drawing on her mixed European and Aboriginal heritage, Riley reflects on family histories shaped by the Stolen Generations and the complexities of disrupted cultural connection. Storytelling and oral histories all inform her work and Western Australia remains a strong anchor within her life and practice, grounding her ongoing exploration of ancestry, land, and belonging. Her work acknowledges difficult histories, but ultimately it creates space for reflection, resilience, and the possibility of a more compassionate and hopeful future.

Riley holds a Diploma of Ceramics and was a finalist in the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize (2024, 2025) and the MAC Yapang Art Prize (2025).
