Tahlia Riley (b. 1992, Western Australia) is a mixed-race Aboriginal artist based on Awabakal Country, NSW, whose family has connections to Wongatha Country through her maternal line and Noongar Country through her paternal line. Working primarily with ceramics and sculpture, her practice centres on oral history and storytelling, exploring the ways stories, memories and experiences shape our understanding of ourselves and others.

Drawing on personal, family and shared histories, Riley explores the stories people carry and the connections between past and present. Her cultural background and lived experiences inform her practice, alongside a broader interest in the stories that shape our lives and the importance of sharing them.

Riley holds a Diploma of Ceramics and has been a finalist in the Wynne Prize (2026), Gosford Prize (2026), Burwood Prize (2026), MAC yapang Art Prize (2025) and Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize (2024, 2025).
