Tahlia Riley (b. Western Australia, 1992) is an emerging visual artist based on Awabakal Country, NSW. Working primarily with ceramics, her practice explores memory, identity, and connection to place, shaped by an awareness of environmental fragility.
Drawing on her mixed European and Aboriginal heritage, Riley’s work is informed by family stories and oral histories, including those connected to the Stolen Generations. Her practice reflects an ongoing process of reconnecting with culture, grounded in storytelling and a strong connection to Western Australia.
Her work engages with complex histories while making space for reflection, resilience, and more hopeful futures.
Riley holds a Diploma of Ceramics and has been a finalist in the Wynne Prize (2026), Burwood Prize (2026), Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize (2024, 2025), and MAC Yapang Art Prize (2025).
